Copper ore beneficiation production line
Copper is the most widely used non-ferrous metal, indispensable in power, construction, transportation, and new energy sectors. With the explosive growth of electric vehicles and renewable energy infrastructure, global copper demand continues to rise, highlighting the strategic value of high-quality copper concentrate.
Our copper ore beneficiation production line is specifically designed for the efficient development of sulfide copper ores, oxide copper ores, and mixed copper ores. It employs a combined process of flotation as the primary method and gravity/magnetic flotation as a secondary method to achieve efficient separation of copper minerals from gangue, while comprehensively recovering associated valuable elements such as gold, silver, molybdenum, cobalt, and sulfur. We provide customized solutions for different ore characteristics, ensuring high recovery rates, high concentrate grades, and low operating costs, helping you achieve maximum return on investment in copper mine development.
Working Principle
The core of copper ore beneficiation lies in utilizing the differences in surface physicochemical properties between copper minerals and gangue minerals for flotation separation. For different types of copper ores, we employ differentiated process routes:
Sulfide Copper Ore Beneficiation (Flotation)
Crushing: The raw ore is crushed in a closed-circuit system using a jaw crusher and a cone crusher to below -15mm.
Grinding: A closed-circuit grinding system consisting of a ball mill and a hydrocyclone assembly is used, with the grinding fineness controlled at 60%-70% of the particles at -200 mesh.
Flotation: Flotation is conducted using xanthate collectors and pine oil frothers in a weakly alkaline slurry (pH adjusted to 9-10 with lime). A typical process involves one roughing, two scavenging, and two cleaning stages to obtain copper concentrate.
Comprehensive Recovery of Gold, Silver, and Molybdenum: Gold and silver often coexist with copper minerals and are enriched in the copper concentrate. If molybdenum is present, molybdenum-copper separation flotation is added to recover the molybdenum concentrate.
Concentration and Dewatering: The copper concentrate is dewatered using a thickener and a filter press, with a final moisture content below 12%.
Copper oxide ore beneficiation (sulfidation flotation or leaching process) Copper oxide ores have poor beneficiation properties and are often treated using sulfidation flotation—first, a sulfidizing agent is added to sulfide the surface of the copper oxide minerals, then flotation is performed using xanthate collectors. For ores with high oxidation rates, a leaching-extraction-electrowinning hydrometallurgical process can be used.
