Graphite beneficiation production line
Graphite is a core raw material for lithium-ion battery anode materials and an irreplaceable strategic resource in new energy, military, and aerospace fields. Driven by global energy transition and carbon neutrality goals, the demand for high-quality graphite is experiencing explosive growth.
Our graphite beneficiation production line is specifically designed to protect the large flake structure and achieve efficient purification. From crushing and grinding to flotation and dewatering, the entire process is optimized to ensure maximum graphite recovery while preserving the natural characteristics of the large flakes, helping you achieve higher premiums in niche markets such as battery materials, high-end sealing, and electrical and thermal conductivity.
Working Principle
Graphite beneficiation utilizes graphite’s natural hydrophobicity and floatability, employing flotation to separate graphite from gangue minerals. For the characteristics of flake graphite, we use a multi-stage grinding-multi-stage beneficiation process:
Crushing and Liberation: The raw ore is crushed to below 2mm using a jaw crusher and cone crusher, creating favorable conditions for grinding.
Grinding Protection: The rod mill uses a “line contact” grinding method, prioritizing the crushing of coarse materials and minimizing mechanical damage to the graphite flakes.
Flotation Separation: The roughing process yields a rough graphite concentrate, which is then regrinded and separated 6-8 times. Flotation is performed immediately after each grinding stage to promptly recover liberated large flakes and prevent over-grinding damage.
Dewatering and Drying: The concentrate is concentrated, filtered, and dried to a final moisture content of less than 12%. After screening and packaging, it is delivered to the customer.
Core equipment of the production line
| Process | Core Equipment | Key Role |
|---|---|---|
| Crushing | Jaw crusher, cone crusher | Coarse and medium crushing achieve “more crushing, less grinding”. |
| Grinding | Rod mill, grate ball mill | Protective grinding reduces over-grinding |
| Classification | Spiral classifier, high frequency screen | Control the grinding fineness and separate large flakes in a timely manner. |
| Roughing | Mechanical stirring flotation machine | Preliminary enrichment to obtain rough concentrate |
| Cleaning | Flotation column, flotation machine | Multiple refinements and selections enhance the quality. |
| Dehydration | Thickener, Filter Press | Solid-liquid separation reduces the moisture content of the concentrate. |
| Drying | Rotary dryer, airflow dryer | Remove excess moisture to facilitate packaging and transportation. |
